Country star Carrie Underwood recently revealed that she has gone from a vegetarian to a vegan. The singer told the Australian talk show The Circle (like an Aussie version of The View) that she decided to make the move to cut out dairy and eggs because she's lactose intolerant.
Underwood grew up on a farm in Oklahoma. She has always loved animals and when she discovered what was really happening on her farm, she decided to change her diet. She didn't become a complete vegetarian though until moving out of Oklahoma.
"From about thirteen I quit eating red meat and then, living in Oklahoma, its almost impossible to be vegetarian so when I moved away, I was about 21, I became vegetarian. I recently made the switch to vegan because I'm actually kind of lactose intolerant."Even though Underwood has been vegetarian for a while, her husband, hockey star Mike Fisher, is a total meat eater. Underwood jokingly told The Circle that he's Canadian and they like their meat. See the full interview below:
